MORPETH TOWN COUNCIL - MORPETH IN BLOOM
|
| Morpeth Town Council have taken part in the Northumbria in Bloom competitions for over 10 years. Morpeth Town Council co-ordinates this major community project working with
Heighley-Gate Garden Centre, Morpeth Chamber of Trade, Castle Morpeth Borough Council, schools and many other local community groups and organisations to fill the town with floral displays, sustainable planting and a clean tidy environment. |

Our motto,
"Inter Sylvas et Fluminas Habitans", (Between Woods and Rivers we
Dwell), is a true depiction of Morpeth, and we are delighted that the 2007 “Bloomin’ Wild” theme will give us ample opportunity to demonstrate this. As a Parish Council, we have a
£20 thousand Budget for ‘In Bloom’ and look forward to leading community groups, the other local authorities and businesses in supporting conservation and retaining the natural beauty of our pretty market town. It is a year-round way of life here, not just an “effort” for the competition. There are also many “Friends” groups who have affinity to special areas of conservation, even our own River Warden who ensures that aquatic life is cared for and any river contamination is swiftly under control; Castle Morpeth has one of the best recycling records in the country. As the County Town and Gateway to Northumberland , we are delighted to represent the region: a warm and
bloomin’ lovely welcome awaits……………
